There are three things to
think about for the perfect pitch shot.
Pitch shots are a miniature version of the full swing; if you don't know how to pitch well, you won't do well with the full swing. First, the pre-shot routine is critical. This means you always precede each shot with the following routine. 1) Target assessment, 2) club selection, 3) go through each set-up skill: grip, posture/stance, ball position, 4) take a practice swing to develop tempo and 5) relax and focus on the target. Second, learn the correct swing mechanics for pitching. Most golfers either have incorrect or incomplete swing mechanics that keep them from a perfect pitch shot. Third, knowing the right swing mechanics is only half the deal. To seal the deal you have to create muscle memory of the mechanics. This means practicing the same mechanics so you can reproduce the shot from body memory. You can learn all the right swing mechanics for all of the four shots of golf from our eBook Blueprint For Golf. It includes over 100 instructional photos and how to create muscle memory so your lower golf scores will last. Click on Blueprint For Golf to begin your journey to better golf. |
